On September 27, Heartland Middle School played Mustang North for Pink Out! Junior Varsity played first against Mustang and won the first set 25-12, but the second set they lost 23-25. Since they lost one and won another they play to a third set and sadly lost 12-15.

After the JV game was over the Pink Out activities began. It started with kids buying tickets for Serve-a-thon to serve and hit a prize. Ben Williams, 6th grader, hit a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper and said, “I thought Pink Out was a cool idea to do and you could sit with your friends and watch the game.”

After all prizes were won they called out raffle winners. Many people got gift cards, cakes, and cookies. After the main event for Pink Out was over varsity started to play. They won both games 25-14 and 25-18. Paige Williams, an eighth grade varsity player said ” I thought we raised a lot of money for a good cause and we played hard”. All together the team raised over $1,000 and it went to the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation. We thank all the students, teachers, and parents for coming to Pink Out.
