7th Grade
Learning to Soar
Seventh grade Thunderhawks, ready to dig into non-fiction text, will continue their quest for knowledge in science class through the study of heredity, genetics, biological unity and diversity, and earth’s place in the universe. Students will begin pre-algebra courses with the opportunity to participate in advanced math classes for those students who qualify. An emphasis on reading and analyzing text will guide much of the instruction in all classes as students also learn to defend their answers by citing text. In the ELA and literacy classes, writing skills will be developed as students write for a variety of purposes. The Eastern Hemisphere will capture student interest in the geography classes, and students will once again receive a year-long course in Literacy.
