Most eighth graders will take the Prep for Algebra course while Algebra I and Geometry will be offered to those who qualify. An increased emphasis on student mastery of analyzing text and helping students become prolific writers will guide instruction in every class as students prepare for high school. ELA courses will continue to foster a love of literature. All eighth-graders will take U.S. History to deepen their understanding of our democracy. Students may also choose between Spanish, Great Books, Humanities and Computer Apps for high school credit.
